Childcare

First Presbyterian Church of Burlingame provides a secure, caring environment for infants and young children that contributes to their well being, complements the nurturing that they receive at home, and introduces them to the love of Christ. This care is provided to allow parents to participate in worship services, programs and activities that take place at the Church. Childcare is alwasy available for Sunday School from 9:30-12:00. Other programs have childcare available when arranged. 

Sunday Childcare Schedule

Rainbow Room - Birth to 24 months

Located adjacent to Fellowship Hall, the Rainbow Room is large and bright with indoor play equipment, toys, books and activity areas that are age appropriate. A variety of free play experiences and activities for young children are offered. Qualified and experienced paid professionals interact in play areas with children, look after their comfort and safety while warmly responding to their needs.

Childcare Reservations

Reservations are not necessary for Sunday morning worship services. For all other church sponsored activities, childcare is available by reservation only.

To ensure that we always have adequate space and enough childcare providers to take care of your children, please call or e-mail the Childcare Hotline for reservations at least 48 hours prior to the program or event you will be attending.

Signing In

Childcare will be available 15 minutes before worship and scheduled activities begin. When arriving for childcare, remove your child's registration card from the card file and present it to the childcare provider. Please indicate on the sign-in sheet your child's name, parent's name, activity attending and parent's location in the church. It is important to inform the staff if someone other than yourself will be picking up your child. Please designate this on the sign-in sheet.

Signing Out

Parents are asked to pick up their children promptly (within 15 minutes) after the church service or program has concluded. For safety reasons, children will be released only to their parents. Please refrain from sending other persons to pick up your child unless they have been designated on the sign-in sheet in advance.

Pager System

We use a paging system for children five and under that allows childcare providers to silently notify parents if they are needed to return to the childcare room during services.

Registration

To make sure that we have accurate information on the children in our care, we require that a registration card be completed for each child participating in the Childcare Program. Registration cards are available in the Cherub and Rainbow rooms.
