Coming Soon: This
Lent we will offer a brief daily
devotion in our chapel each weekday from 4:45 – 5:00 p.m. The
devotions will
run Monday through Friday, February 18 - April 1. This simple service
is open
to all as a time for us to hear a scripture reading of Christ, to
meditate on
it and to conclude with a prayer. Come every day or come sporadically.
All are
welcome. Lenten Dinner
& Program
Series What do a minister, a rabbi, a
Catholic father, and Christian theologians have in common? No
fooling... the
answer is prayer!! Our Lenten Series theme this year is Prayer and will
feature
a different speaker each night. This year’s Lenten Dinners will
once again be
great fun for the whole family as special programming is being designed
for all
ages. Join us for dinner at 5:45 p.m. each Wednesday of Lent beginning
on Ash
Wednesday, Feb. 17. Starting on Feb. 24 each evening’s dinner
will feature a
special theme and we will enjoy fun intergenerational activities,
music, and
authentic food. You are invited to come dressed in costume to add to
the
ambiance of the evening (see themes below). We will be selling tickets
for
dinner during our Lenten Series which helps us know how many people we
should
prepare for each week. Dinner tickets can be purchased between church
services,
in the church office, or at the door (please call the church office at
342-0875
to make dinner reservations if buying your tickets at the door). Dinner

the Bible.

host meals and act as overnight hosts. We also hope you will pray for
this
ministry that we are hosting for two weeks. 3rd Our
third mission group to Musica
Sacra in Concert Two vocal
music ensembles combine, Chorus Angelorum from Tampa Bay Area and
Musica Sacra
from San Francisco Bay Area, to give a special performance on May 16
here at
FPCB. Music will include repertoire from each ensemble as well as
combined
repertoire. Our New Cookie Ministry Our new Cookie
Ministry to welcome newcomers and greet visitors began just
before Thanksgiving last year. Our intent is to provide fresh-baked
cookies to
newcomers, occasional visitors, and special friends to thank them for
worshipping with us. There are many occasions when it would be nice to
have “a
little something” to share with a neighbor or friend to let them
know they are
being remembered. We hope you agree that everyone will enjoy this tasty
treat.
As we grow this ministry over the next year we would love to welcome
your help! So far, a dozen of us have
helped bake and
package cookies on Saturday mornings in the church kitchen from 10 to
11:30
a.m. We have gotten to know each other a little better while sharing coffee and, yes, a cookie or two!
If you are interested and can commit an hour
and a half on an occasional Saturday morning, please call Jeannine
Hanson at
867-4054. Thank you for considering making these treats for others! Save the Date for Summer Camp 2010 Now that the
