Founded in 1964, the First Presbyterian Church Preschool is a non-profit school responsible to the Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlingame. Tiffany Teele is the director of our school. Our Goal

Our goal is to provide a program for preschool children ages two through five, and their parents, that offers the highest caliber of developmentally appropriate pre-school education and is consistent with the Christian teachings of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlingame.

Parent Participation

Parent Participation is vital to our preschool program. Parents sharing their knowledge of the child, and teachers sharing their knowledge of how children grow and learn foster a cooperative responsibility for nurturing the child in a period when growth is rapid. Parents are required to participate in and observe the preschool class approximately seven times a year in the programs for 3- and 4-year-olds and every three weeks in the 2-year-old class. Pre-enrollment conferences are held for all parents. In addition, mid-year conferences for 3- and 4-year-old-class parents are scheduled between parents and a teacher each school year. Other conferences may be held upon request by parent, teacher, or director.

Additional opportunities for parent involvement are offered through meetings, parenting education, and discussion groups. Our hope is that each child will grow and mature to his or her potential in all areas: emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually.

Enrollment Policy

The Preschool Ministry Team comprised of church members and preschool parents has established the following policy regarding application acceptances for the school. It is the intent of the Ministry Team to assure fair and consistent consideration of all applicants. Admission is open to any child without regard to race, color, religious preference, or national or ethnic origin. Applications are accepted at any time and dated upon receipt of the application fee. Those wishing to retain their priority points must apply by February 15th prior to Fall enrollment.

March 1 of each year, classes are filled for the following September according to priority points and date of application. Parents are notified of placement in April.

Enrollment priority is given based on the following point system:

  • 2 Points – Active FPCB member parent on or before February 15 of enrollment year
  • 1 Point – Family currently enrolled in our school or
  • 1 Point – Graduated sibling from our 4-year-old class
  • ½ Point – Applying child is currently enrolled.
  • No Points – New to school, not eligible for points above

Hours: 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Days: Tues/Thurs or Wed/Fri

Three-Year-Old Classes (2)

Hours: 9:00-12:00 p.m.

Days:  Mon/Wed/Fri or 

Age: Three years old 
on or before December 2.

Tuition: M/W/F $420.00

Tours offered Mon-Fri 11:00 a.m. by appointment

Four-Year-Old Classes (2)

Hours: 8:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. 

Days: Mon through Thurs or Mon/Wed/Fri

Age: Four years old on or before December 2; also, kindergarten eligible children whose parents desire the child to have another year of preschool.
