On
a Pastoral note...
Our Session
is excited to report that we have just offered
a full time position as Assistant Youth Director to Noah Starksen, a
recent
grad from Azusa
Pacific University.
Noah has youth ministry experience both in
churches and camps, with junior high and senior high students. I
personally
interviewed him at one point in this process and am thrilled to welcome
him
onto our youth ministry team to work with Starla. He
will begin work in early September—this is
part of God’s answer to our many prayers for sa full a ministry
as possible to
our youth. Please welcome him into our
church family warmly!

FPCB Shipmates
Getting
Connected
& Staying Connected
To build a community, especially a faith
community, connections are important. The Fellowship Ministries
team is
excited about helping our congregation find opportunities to build and
strengthen those connections. One great way to get to know people
is
through Shipmates. Besides providing regular, caring fellowship,
this
ministry aims to encourage spiritual growth in its members; to serve as
an
outreach to people who are not church members; and to serve and support
FPCB in
its ministry and mission. And it’s fun! Shipmates have long
been a part of
our church life. Some of the groups have been active for
decades. Once
they got connected, they stayed connected. In the hope more of our
members
can experience this kind of community, we plan to start more Shipmates
Groups
in the fall. If you are interested contact Elder Karen Delk at kjdelk@earthlink.net
or at 359-5655 or call Pastor
Linda Galligan at 342-9298.
